The program of this 4 day custom tour looked like this:
Day 1: Arrival and visit to Delft and The Hague
Arrival on an early flight at the airport. Meet your private guide at the gate and immediately head for Delft. Delft is a beautiful little town world famous for Delftware and for the painter Johannes Vermeer. Here we take a break for lunch. Then we do a walking tour and see the main monuments like the City Hall, the Old Chutch and the New Church. The latest visit for today is The Hague, the seat of the Dutch government, the Royal Family and the International Court of Justice. Here we make a city tour. You will see the Houses of Parliament, the Peace Palace and the Embassy District. Then we go to your hotel in Amsterdam.
Day 2: the Dutch Countryside
Today we discover the so-called Dutch polder landscape. Our first visit will be the famous the cheese market of Alkmaar. We will drive through a UNESCO World Heritage site, polder ‘the Beemster’. Your private guide will explain everything about the eternal fight of the Dutch with the water. We will have a typical Dutch pancake for lunch at the windmill village Zaanse Schans. Here we can also visit a working windmill, enjoy a cheese tasting and visit a wooden shoe factory.
Day 3: Visit to Amsterdam
Today is dedicated to the city of Amsterdam. On a walking tour, you can see the most important sights of the city. Enjoy the Rembrandt House, the New Church, the Royal Palace, the National Monument, several canals, the Central Station, and much more. On the picture you see the Beguinage. We have lunch in a local restaurant. The afternoon is at leisure. Eventually, you can do a Canal Cruise or visit a Diamond Factory.
Day 4: Amsterdam Museum Tours and Departure
Today we first enjoy a private guided tour at the Rijksmuseum. Discover the Dutch Masters of the 17th century like Rembrandt, Frans Hals and Johannes Vermeer. In the private Van Gogh Museum tour we discover the largest collection of paintings by Vincent van Gogh in the world. An optional third visit is the former Heineken brewery, the so-called Heineken Experience. The rest of the day at leisure. In the evening, we go back to the airport for departure.
